CAMARILLO, Calif. – Moving to the least restrictive yellow tier means fewer restrictions for businesses in Ventura County. This includes wedding locations.
“It’s been really sad and quiet here all year round without the sounds of music and happy couples,” said Molly Lyneis, the Camarillo Ranch rental manager.
Wedding venues like Camarillo Ranch have had a tough year and a half canceling and postponing weddings because of the pandemic.
“It was a tough time for any couple who couldn’t get their wedding going as planned,” said Lyneis. “We have a couple of couples who are on their third and fourth wedding anniversary. People were still actively booking their weddings in the hope that the restrictions would be lifted by their arrival. “
Smaller weddings with restrictions were allowed to start again on April 15th, and now the wedding season as we knew it is making a comeback.
“Tomorrow is our first full wedding,” said Lyneis. “It’s super exciting. This is the first time since last March that we can have dinner and dance here at the venue. “
Ventura County officially entered the least restrictive yellow tier of the state’s reopening plan on Wednesday, which means fewer Covid restrictions.
“We can now have up to 200 guests and then even more if they are all vaccinated or have a negative COVID test, and we can do that inside for reception,” said Lyneis. “Again with the proviso that the guests are vaccinated or have a negative COVID test.”
As wedding restrictions relax, availability plummets. According to Camarillo Ranch, the rest of the year is very busy – almost every Saturday is booked.
“It’s very exciting to see so many of our salespeople get back to work and the couples can finally have the weddings they’ve been waiting for,” said Lyneis.
