We bet some millennials who are about to get married will long for the beautiful wedding dress Lady Charlotte Wellesley wore on Saturday when she married American-Colombian billionaire Alejandro Santo Domingo in Illora, Spain.
The 25-year-old bride is the daughter of the Duke of Wellington and Princess Antonia of Prussia, who is related to Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip. Royal guests included Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, former Spanish King Juan Carlos I and Andrea Casiraghi (Princess Caroline of Monaco’s son) with his wife Tatiana Santo Domingo (the bridegroom’s niece).
Wellesley wore a stunning cream off the shoulder dress and lace veil by Emilia Wickstead, a designer known for attracting some of the most iconic women in London society. A CultureMap reader noted that Wickstead was at the wedding to smooth out wrinkles on the train before the bride entered the chapel, much like Alexander McQueen’s Sarah Burton, who designed Kate Middleton’s wedding dress, was there to help the soon-to-be helper Duchess of Cambridge when she married Prince William in 2011.
Must be a royal thing.
Wickstead’s designs are worn at Laboratoria in Houston.
We wonder how long it will be before counterfeiting occurs.
