Coronavirus has bothered many things not to mention the number of weddings that have been postponed due to restrictions.

With the third phase of Boris Johnson’s roadmap no longer complete, weddings can now have up to 30 guests, which means that summer weddings are indeed an option again, even if they need to be more intimate.

With HertsLive you are in good hands if you are looking for an alternative venue or just a venue in general.

Here are six of the best Hertfordshire wedding venues. Hopefully this will get more and more booked over time.

To ensure your day is as safe as possible, check the Gov UK website for updated rules and restrictions, as well as the websites of the venues listed below.

St. Paul’s Walden Bury

This venue is traditional but with that added level of contemporary charm that so many couples seek in venues these days.

St. Pauls is a beautiful, Grade II listed manor house in a Grade I listed garden of 50 acres.

The house and the classical gardens are approved for civil ceremonies. Up to 700 guests can attend a reception, subject to restrictions.

This venue also has third party caterers of your choice so you have so many options for your perfect day.

This stately home is famous for being the childhood home of Elizabeth the Queen Mother and the backdrop for her accepting the marriage proposal from Prince Albert (King George VI).

The maximum number of guests in the house is 50, but can also be expanded outdoors if necessary.

The barn in Alswick

This is a late 16th century barn on the Alswick Hall Estate, an all inclusive venue for civil ceremonies and receptions with flexible barn and courtyard space.

Alswick also has a dedicated team of event planners on hand for your wedding and on-site facilities to get you ready.

The private gardens provide the perfect backdrop for those precious photo memories. If restrictions allow, there can be up to 200 guests at your front desk.

The Noke Hotel

The Noke Hotel in St. Albans is an all-inclusive wedding venue with bespoke wedding packages that can be adapted to suit any style of celebration.

The maximum capacity for The Noke is 230 guests. Currently, of course, only 30 guests are allowed at weddings, but hopefully that will change in the coming months.

The hotel also has an on-site marquee for larger groups and has 110 rooms that wedding guests can stay in, especially if it’s been a heavy night.

Tipis in Beaumont Hall

Nestled in the beautiful Hertfordshire countryside, the tipis in Beaumont Hall are a welcome change in the traditional style of the wedding venue.

Made in Scandinavia, the tipis can withstand any weather, which is a necessity in the UK, and according to the website, they guarantee a warm and cozy space in the coldest weather.

There is also a listed Georgian farmhouse on the premises. The house and grounds are completely secluded and the venue offers a comprehensive event management service.

And if you really want to push the boat out, you can also host stag and hen parties at the venue and stay in one of the 62 on-site rooms.
