(WSYR-TV) – As more people get vaccinated, the New York restart is expanding to include more companies. Starting Monday, wedding venues can increase the capacity for up to 150 guests or 50% of the venue’s capacity.
Guests still have to wear masks and keep their distance, but the owner of Sky Armory in Syracuse, Nicole Samolis, says this is a sign of hope for the future and they are already seeing positive change in their business.
“We really get replies from people who say, ‘Yeah, we’re going to pick a 2021 date. ‘So we have certainly seen inquiries coming in, doing and booking a lot more tours. We also book others [events] than just weddings. This is very encouraging because I really didn’t think we’d be booking a lot of non-wedding events until Q3 and Q4, and we’re already seeing that. “
Looking ahead, April 2nd is the day Governor Andrew Cuomo says venues can reopen at 33% capacity, up to 100 people indoors and 200 people outdoors.
