BROKEN ARROW, Okla. – Memories last forever, but when the events industry was hit by COVID-19 restrictions, it stopped capturing special moments.

Many weddings, birthdays, holidays, and other celebrations have been canceled and postponed in the United States

In the greater Tulsa area, Excellence Photo Booths had planned more than a dozen events in the past two months, but business stalled.

“This was a unique challenge as more than 10 people were banned from coming together,” says Jake Westerfield, owner of Excellence Photo Booths.

The last event the small business took on was the Tulsa Home and Garden Show in mid-March, just days before the coronavirus restrictions went into effect in Tulsa.

Westerfield says he has to think outside the box to stay afloat.

“We were contacted just last week by a grandparent of a senior and they have a virtual degree,” says Westerfield. “And she said I don’t know if this is possible, but if it is possible.” You are the one who can. She said can you do a virtual photo booth? “

He is ready for the challenge of building his first virtual photo booth for the 2020 class.

The small business owner will combine current software with newer programs to create something unique and memorable for the seniors.

He is currently rescheduling events that have been postponed for fall and winter. While his calendar fills up quickly, he has room for more.

He understands that people are concerned about the spread of the virus, but he says if you’re worried about props sharing, the photo booths have an array of virtual props.

“If you’re planning an event during this transition period, or especially a high school graduation, where you can’t get everyone together, we’d love to have pictures of your hats and dresses, virtually send them, and provide the virtual photo stand still,” says Westerfield.

Personal or digital, Jake hopes they can help you create a beautiful memory.
