Attitudes towards wedding dress shopping are changing rapidly. Even before the pandemic, many brides tended to take a more modern and sustainable approach – either to casual dresses they could wear again or cheaper alternatives rather than spending thousands on a dress they would wear only once. And over the year we’ve had, those changes have only accelerated. The pandemic has resulted in smaller weddings at the moment, but in a broader sense it has also encouraged brides to find their wedding dresses online and through virtual appointments.
“I think it’s fair to say that the pandemic has changed the way people shop, invest in certain aspects of their wedding, and manage planning,” said wedding designer Danielle Frankel.
For many, these changes have encouraged brides to opt for cheaper alternatives when choosing a wedding dress. If you want to keep costs down, there are more options than ever before. The main drag has entered the wedding market in the last few years while there are plenty of beautiful bridal designer dresses available that are priced below £ 1,000. It’s also useful to check out the sales and trunk shows for affordable clothing items that usually cost a lot more.
From H&M to Jacquemus, Cecile Bahnsen and Self-Portrait, we present 15 of the most beautiful and affordable wedding dresses you should consider for your big day.
